Ingredients (for about 30 bites):
Churro Dough:
-
1 cup water
-
2 ½ tbsp sugar
-
½ tsp salt
-
2 tbsp butter
-
1 cup all-purpose flour
-
1 egg
-
½ tsp vanilla extract
-
Vegetable oil (for frying)
Cinnamon Sugar Coating:
-
½ cup sugar
-
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Chocolate Hazelnut Dip:
-
½ cup chocolate hazelnut spread (like Nutella)
-
¼ cup heavy cream
-
1 tsp espresso powder (optional, for depth)
Instructions:
-
Make the Dough: In a saucepan, bring water, sugar, salt, and butter to a boil. Remove from heat, stir in flour until a dough forms. Let cool slightly, then mix in egg and vanilla until smooth.
-
Fry the Bites: Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F. Pipe 1-inch pieces of dough into the oil using a pastry bag with a star tip. Fry until golden (about 2 minutes).
-
Coat: Roll warm churro bites in cinnamon sugar.
-
Make the Dip: Warm cream in a small saucepan, remove from heat, and stir in chocolate hazelnut spread and espresso powder.
-
Serve on a platter: Add toothpicks and a small bowl of the dip for an easy, elegant presentation.
